Driven to write at age seven, I wrote and edited my first neighborhood newspaper. I fell in love with storytelling. I began reading such diverse authors as Margaret Wise Brown (The Sailor Dog), Arthur Miller (Death of a Salesman) and Lawrence Durrell (The Alexandria Quartet).
